Welcome to The Great Western Surgery

The Great Western Surgery was built in August 1990 and is an excellent purpose built cost rent premises located on the outskirts of Swindon town centre.

Our surgery gives us the luxury of being able to practice from a functional, and aesthetically pleasing building that has been further enhanced in March 2003 by the addition of upstairs accommodation. This includes a meeting room, offices, kitchen and shower room. Plus, we have ample parking space around the surgery grounds. Located adjacent to us is a Tesco Superstore offering pharmacy facilities that are open during normal shopping hours and until 2100.

During the last seven years a large, mainly privately owned, housing estate has been built in close proximity to the surgery. We have good access to all major routes, with M4 junctions, east and west, between five and ten minutes travelling time from the surgery. A fifteen minute walk from the surgery will take you to the Swindon main line BR Station with frequent train services to all parts of the UK. Swindon is also well placed for Bath, Bristol and Oxford.

The beauty of the surrounding countryside of Wiltshire and the Cotswolds, with their many charming and historic villages, is never lost on the people be they visitors to the area or locals. We presently have a stable list size of approximately 5300 patients with the potential of increasing this with the continued growth of Swindon. Historically our practice population is drawn from all areas of the town, however, although we have adopted a flexible approach, we are finding it necessary to limit our intake of new patients to within a specific grid area of the town.
